The StressCheck modeling kernal is Parasolid.  Therefore, importation/exportation of geometry via a Parasolid transmit file (*.x_t) is fully supported.  In addition, Basic StressCheck comes with 2D and 3D automatic meshing tools developed by Simmetrix Corporation.

ESRD offers 3rd party utility modules to complement the default functionalities available in the Basic StressCheck pre- and post-processing module.  Below is a list of available utility modules with a brief description of the functionality.  Please contact your ESRD sales representative for more information.

Pro/Mechanica Mesh Translator (part # SCW-PHD)

The PH_D mesh translator is a product of ADA Corporation. This tool converts a Pro/Mechanica database (solved model with a minimum of 4 midsides in the data grid) into a StressCheck input file (*.sci). Only mesh objects (3D elements & nodes) are translated. User must apply material properties and boundary conditions after reading in the input file generated by the PH_D translator.

PAM Automesher (part # SCW-PAM)

PAM (P-fem Automatic Mesher) is a product of ADA Corporation.  What differentiates PAM from traditional h-automeshers is that it produces geometrically mapped (high order) elements ideally suited for the p-version finite element method.  This type of a mesh requires fewer elements and enables solutions (p-extensions) greater than p=5, which is the recommended maximum for isoparametric elements generated by the default automesher in Basic StressCheck.  PAM is based on the Parasolid modeling kernal and produces a high quality mesh, allowing the user to control element edge angles, element face angles and edge curvature.  Local mesh refinement at a point, along an edge curve, or on a face surface transitions quickly to the global coarse mesh.

PAM offers special functions such as:
1) Create solid mesh by spin, extrude, extrude face, and thicken
2) Create a boundary layer mesh
3) Create a crack face mesh (disconnected element faces)

MeshSim Advanced Automesher (part # SCW-MAA)

A product of Simmetrix Corporation. This tool extends the base MeshSim automesher functionality to provide enhanced capabilities for special applications (e.g. crack tip meshing). Includes boundary layer meshing, edge blend meshing and extrusion meshing.
