StressCheck Tutorial: Computation of Kt and Crack Initiation Beta Factor for a 2D Notched Plate in Tension
Abstract: Modeling and analysis of a Planar specimen with a circular notch for a) stress concentration factor (Kt) computation and b) stress intensity factor (SIF) computation for an initial flaw size at the root of the circular notch. The SIF can then be converted to a beta factor for use in fatigue life calculations in other software tools.
