StressCheck Demo: Bracket Modal Analysis

Abstract: A Bracket Modal Analysis Demo video is presented for a solid bracket geometry with two fixed holes. The goal of the analysis is to compute the first two free vibration modes. The problem description is from Tony Abbey’s Digital Engineering Simulation Overview from August 2018, in which he solved the same problem using Autodesk Nastran In-CAD.

The results have been used to improve our residual strength and structural life estimates for aircraft in service with the Royal Australian Airforce, including C-130, P-3C and F/A-18 A/B.
