Abstract: Quantitative measures of the influence of meshing strategies and contact zone mismatches for a simple pin/sleeve bushing assembly. Note: in cases such as this, we observe the “knife edge” effect on the local contact stresses, in which stress “jumps” occur where contact pressure suddenly goes from non-zero to zero. These “jumps” are stress singularities associated with the mathematical model.
