StressCheck Tutorial: Performing h-Discretization to Refine Manually Generated Meshes
Abstract: If convergence is not achieved for a full p-extension on a manually-generated mesh of hexahedra/pentahedra (3D) or quads/tris (Planar), h-Discretization is the most efficient way to refine the mesh. Manually-generated meshes can be refined uniformly for elements, or geometrically graded from selected geometric boundaries, element faces (3D) or element edges (Planar).
