ESRD Celebrates 30 Years in Numerical Simulation Excellence

August 1, 2019 News, S.A.F.E.R. Simulation

ESRD was founded in 1989 to bring S.A.F.E.R. Simulation to engineers around the globe.

A message from the President and CEO:

ESRD President and CEO Dr. Ricardo Actis

ESRD was founded 30 years ago by Barna Szabó, Kent Myers and Ivo Babuška with the mission to create and market software tools for the advancement of the quality, reliability and timeliness of information that serves engineering decision-making processes.

ESRD’s flagship product is StressCheck Professional, an advanced finite element analysis (FEA) tool with roots in supporting the analysis of complex Aerospace & Defense industry applications.

Thanks to our world class team of engineers and software developers, we have been able to field a product that is not like any other finite element analysis software.  It is the only FEA software at present that meets the technical requirements of simulation governance.

When asked: In what way is StressCheck different from other finite element analysis software products? I answer: StressCheck supports numerical simulation, other FEA products support finite element modeling. This usually leads to interesting conversations about why finite element modeling is not numerical simulation, contrary to many advertising slogans, and why smart applications must be subject to the rules of simulation governance.

I thank our customers for recognizing the value in what we provide and for appreciating the importance of quality assurance in numerical simulation. I thank them for having placed their confidence in us.

I thank our employees for their dedication and hard work which made these 30 years possible and I look forward to continued success in the coming years as more and more thought leaders come to realize what our customers already know: We empower our customers to get reliable solutions for their numerical simulation problems.

Ricardo L. Actis
President and CEO
ESRD, Inc.

On August 2nd, ESRD celebrated the occasion with an employee luncheon and an address by ESRD Co-Founder and Chairman Dr. Barna Szabó. Here are a few images from the celebration:

Testimonials

“We have been having very good success using the P-Version finite element code, StressCheck, to develop the 2-D solutions for two independent cracks in a plate. I have asked one of our AFGROW team members to model the plate and lug cases using StressCheck and compare them to the existing AFGROW closed-form solutions. [He] modeled the cases several different ways to be sure that he was getting the best possible solutions. He has verified that the bearing load option in StressCheck provides excellent results.”
