Last week, ESRD wrote a guest contribution for Altair’s Innovation Intelligence blog titled “Hyper-Fidelity Structural Analysis for S.A.F.E.R. Numerical Simulation...
While the idea of simulation governance may be easy to understand, the challenges of two potential bottlenecks must be addressed before it can adopted by engineering management. Read Dr. Barna Szabo’s latest S.A.F.E.R. simulation post to learn more.
In this S.A.F.E.R. Simulation post, we’ll explore Five Key Quality Checks for verifying the accuracy of FEA solutions. To help us drive the conversation in a practical manner, we selected a widely available and well understood benchmark problem to model, solve and perform each Key Quality Check using ESRD’s flagship FEA software, StressCheck Professional.
On February 12, 2020 a webinar on tips & resources for enhancing our users’ StressCheck Professional knowledge, titled “Mastering StressCheck: Practical Training Approaches & Online Resources for A&D Engineers”, was provided by ESRD’s Brent Lancaster. In case you missed it, the webinar slides and on-demand recording are now available!

Thirty years ago, on August 2nd, 1989, Engineering Software Research & Development, Inc. (ESRD) was founded in St. Louis, MO, USA. To commemorate this milestone, ESRD’s President & CEO Dr. Ricardo Actis would like to share a few words with you. Please take a few moments to read his commemoration.
On July 29, 2019 a joint webinar on the the importance of Simulation Governance in FEA-based Sim App development & deployment, titled “Democratization of Simulation Governance-Compliant Sim Apps”, was provided by ESRD’s Brent Lancaster and Rev-Sim’s Malcolm Panthaki. In case you missed it, the webinar recording is now available!
In NAFEMS’ July 2019 edition of Benchmark Magazine, ESRD Chairman Dr. Barna Szabó reveals the converged StressCheck solution for the incremental spring rates, provides a summary of the FEA Puzzler respondent submissions, and documents the various approaches taken by the respondents.
In this edition of S.A.F.E.R. Simulation Views we asked Brent Lancaster, ESRD’s Principal Support Engineer, about the basics of StressCheck Professional. Learn why it was developed, what it supports, how to master it, and more!

“Through the use of StressCheck the A-10 Aircraft Structural Integrity Program’s (ASIP) Analysis Group is able to model more accurately the physics of fatigue crack propagation in critical aircraft structure. Through this tool we are able to model, analyze and predict failure of aircraft structure and then develop crucial inspection and maintenance planes to ensure the safety and sustainability of our nations warplanes. Without the analysis capability provided to us through StressCheck we would not be able to provide accurate assessments of the A-10 structure to top USAF leadership.”
